Lucky me!
I don’t know about all y’all, but I really love getting my mail, and I especially like getting packages. Especially when those packages are from other countries. Especially when those packages are from really cool bloggers from really cool other countries. Especially when you get another really awesome package, on top of the exotic first one, and that is from another really cool blogger from an equally cool, non-northern locale. especially when….Ok, you probably get my drift!
(I love looking at foreign stamps. These were beautiful)
Today, I was blessed with two (2!) awesome packages filled with goodies for me, only MEEEE! The first, from the lovely, thoughtful Ines of the blog All I am-a Redhead, who not only gave me a sample of the rare, unique Puredistance, but also a cute chocolate and the beautiful Tam Dao, and the equally transcendent parfum sacre. So thanks, Ines, I feel very lucky!
And if that weren’t awesome enough, I got a package containing two jasmines I have wanted to try from Carol over at WAFT…what a fragrance freak thinks: tuvache jungle jasmine, and malak jasmine. Yay! Thank you very much, Carol!
Every day, I think about how lucky I am to have found such a cool hobby, and how awesome the perfumista community is on the nets. It’s a good life.
Don’t forget to enter your name in my book and fragrance giveaway…..
I LOVE packages too. In fact every day when I hear the postman arrive I practically run to get it - even when I'm not expecting anything. And what can be better than getting fragrances in the post! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI know. It's kind of sick how much I love the mail. Around early afternoon, I start looking out the window a lot, like a dog waiting for his master to get home from work. It could be because my life is so sedentary and repetitive; academic writing, reading, then perfume writing, reading, rinse, repeat...but I just love that little spike of excitement when the mail comes in.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Sarah, I felt good about today's mail too and I know exactly what you mean. Perfume people are the best kind of people. And Ooooo do tell about Parfum Sacre, another dark rose scent I've been meaning to try! And I've never heard of those jasmines, tell us what you think :)
ReplyDeleteI have smelled Parfum Sacre before, and absolutely love it!!! (and am always happy at the opportunity to smell it again) Tam Dao is absolutely gorgeous, everything I want in a woody smell. The jasmines I am pumped about, but must wait until my brain settles down a bit. I've been a bit hyper lately and have had trouble focusing...a little bit of my childhood ADD creeping up on me, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you have a nice spirit in your fragrance community! Yes, lucky you; my mailbox hardly ever contains any nice surprises! ... and I suppose that the Mozart chocolate wasn't bad either!
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the things I love about the perfume community - everyone is always ready to share with other like-minded people and there are always packages being shipped around. :)
ReplyDeleteI want to hear about the jasmines!
Yeah, Peter and Ines, I do think people are really nice and excited to share their feelings and impressions. It's awesome to be a part of--all warm fuzzies!
ReplyDeleteThe Mozart chocolate was very good. I gobbled it up RIGHT after I took that pic.
